Review
Stylish and ultra-violent, Keanu Reeves returns to form with an action role reminiscent of his 'Matrix'/'Speed' days. Applying the usual revenge tale of a hit-man, the story unfolds with a gradual expansion of a one-of-a-kind universe, which leaves audiences craving for more. Progressing from such simple premise lies a slightly comic-inspired/video-game like surrounding - unlimited body count and endless supply of ammunition. The action choreography goes exceptionally well hand in hand with the kinetically stunning cinematography. A role tailor-made for Reeves, John Wick is no doubt a cold, ruthless ex-assassin, but not without a bit of soft spot to himself. Nevertheless, 'John Wick' is a thrilling wild ride into the world of beautiful violence and awesome scores (highlight's on the high energy club fight scenes, featuring superb music by Le Castle Vania). I had a great time.
