Synopsis
Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever.

Review
Loaded with much political undertone that alludes to the current global scene of rebel uprisings, the second instalment takes it up a notch by fuelling more suffering and grim. As consistent as always, Lawrence's portrayal of Katniss, the supposed empowering symbol of feminism ,a figure of hope, is taking heat from the Capitol for what she's done in the first one. Driven to the edge of desperation, the plot escalates like a crescendo, as fiery emotions intensifies into the brutally impressive third-act. While some parts may be a bit too draggy and unnecessary, the focus on the story and characters are tallied with an appropriate amount of screentime balance. The film's high-note ending promises big things to come soon.
