Review: While many superhero follow-ups wouldn't even make it out alive surviving the 'sequel curse' ( a curse deemed by the failure of meeting the general audiences' expectation.), 'X2' ups the ante by implementing a thrilling storyline. As suspense unfolds throughout the carefully designed plot (mind the twists and turns) at momentum-driven pace, the movie and its universe are effectively built up before reaching a relatively violent outburst in the climax, resulting in one of the most talked about cliffhangers of all time. The only snag regarding the character portrayals is how impertinent it is of the filmmakers to limit the potential of James Marsden's Cyclops. Apart from that, the basic aspects of the mutant genre is very well-kept and checked in balance as the action becomes gorier and the shades become darker.
